Bulmer is a transitional serif typeface originally designed by William Martin (1757–1830) in 1792 for the Shakespeare Press. The types were used for printing the Boydell Shakespeare folio edition. William Martin's typefaces show strong influence of the Baskerville typeface of John Baskerville, but with more contrast and sharper serifs.
Bulmer's distinguishing characters are an uppercase R with a curved tail. Lowercase g has a small bowl and a curved ear; a heavier stroke weight on the lower right side of the bowl contributes to a sense of that character leaning backwards.
The Plakatstil movement, which is German for poster style was an early style of poster art that originated in Germany in the 1900s. The common characteristics of this style are bold eye-catching lettering with flat colors. The three designers I choose to focus on were Lucian Bernhard, Hans Rudi Erdt and Ludwig Hohlwein.
This book was completed by using die cuts and gold foiling on the cover, the inside pages show the luxury of the three castles of King Ludwig II. Neuschwanstein, Linderhof & Herrenchiemsee are the three castles that King Ludwig had built. A printed vellum page shows the location of each castle on a map. The poet Paul Verlaine called Ludwig II the "only true king of this century". His palaces, which were barred to strangers, have been visited by over 50 million people since his death.
Create a ecologically friendly, reusable package for a product was the challenge for this project of our choosing. I chose to make a portable and reusable first aid kit for pets (dog, cat and rabbit).
Dale Chihuly, a Seattle glass artist first came to The Atlanta Botanical Gardens in 2004 and then again in 2016. “Chihuly in the Garden,” featuring more than 20 installations composed of hundreds of pieces of colorful glass, will take over the 30-acre green space beside Piedmont Park from April 30 to Oct. 30, 2016. I created a tunnel book with my own illustrated rendition of Chihulys glass work, combined with die cuts, and foiling on the cover of the invitation to invite them to a special reception.

Kubo and the Two Strings is a 3-D stop-motion film directed and co-produced by Travis Knight, and written by Marc Haimes and Chris Butler.
In ancient Japan, Kubo is a one-eyed young boy who lives with his ill mother, Sariatu, in a cave atop a mountain which is next to a village. Every day he tells stories to the villagers by magically manipulating origami that by playing music from his shamisen. Kubos mother warns him to not stay outside after dark or her Sisters and his grandfather the Moon King will come to take his remaining eye (after they took his other one when he was a baby).
Agatha Raisin is a frustrated, middle-aged public-relations agent who moved from London to Carsely in the Cotswolds when she sold her public-relations firm and took early retirement. She solves murders in earlier books, and then sets up her own detective agency. The police, and even some of her acquaintances, insist that she solves crimes through accident and luck.
I chose to redesign four of M.C. Beatons books with a slightly humorous illustration since her cozy mysteries are a murder with a twist of humor.
The scope of this project was to choose a Fortune 500 company that could use a rebrand to fit with their new identity. I chose to redesign Charter Communications since it is one of the fastest growing voice, internet and cable in the US.
This illustration was created with colored pencils.
The challenge on this illustration was to use no actual black colored pencil on our work, but to use other colors to create a dark "black".
The technique I used to create this illustration was a happy accident, after sketching out my idea, I used graphite paper to copy my sketch onto the water color paper and when I water colored over the graphite lines the fine white lines were left.
